Toward Primary School

At Toward Primary School the only homework we would expect to be carried out is reading, which could be your child reading individually, with someone else or someone reading to them.  P1 – P3 will be set reading homework so you have the opportunity to share these stories with your child at home. All children will be given a school book to read but we would encourage additional reading at home. Joining Dunoon Library is a great way to widen your child’s reading experience.

Other homework is optional and will be up to you, as a parent, to decide whether or not you want your child to do homework and how much. This page includes a list of suggested homework activities for those families that would like their child to complete homework. These activities include a selection of short homework activities as well as longer project ideas.

In school P4 – P7 learn spellings and these will continue to be sent home as you may want your child to also learn them at home.

On the first Monday of every month there will be a sharing assembly in school.  Pupils are welcome to bring in their homework to share with the school on these days.  This is also a chance for pupils to bring in or share with the school any achievement from outwith the school.
